So how is the 8th amendment affecting me?? Well I remember being under 24/7 supervision on the labour ward the Friday night 4 June 2017 feeling like my body was gonna give out, I begged the doctors to induce me. I was 34 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my 2nd daughter.

You would think that when a mother is saying I feel like I'm dying that is enough for the medical profession to allow an induction? Yes?

Not necessarily. If you live here in Ireland it depends if the medical professionals agrees that your life is in high enough risk. Cause here the unborn life is equal to the life of the mother.

In my case it meant that my cervix was checked to see if I was favourable for an induction. I was 1 cm dilated already. Then all the information was brought to the medical team meeting where it was then up to them to decide if I would be induced.

Thankfully it was decided that I would be induced and so Saturday morning at 11 am I was started on the drip. My beautiful and perfect daughter arrived at 14.21 pm without any assistance needed.

No woman want to loose their baby however neither do we want to loose our own life. As long as women are seen not being able to make the best decision for them self and their babies society will treat women as inferior.

This is no more real than a women asking to have her tubes tied. If she is married her husband has to consent to this procedure or she cannot have it. Why is it that a woman cannot get to decide if she is gonna have more children? These not even conceived??
