Being BRCA 1

So a few months ago I found out that I'm brca 1. What is brca 1? It stands for breast cancer 1, so it's a gene that increases ur chance of having ovarian and breast cancer. Many of you will go aha if I said the Angelina Joli gene.
So after finding out my odds of having ovarian and breast cancer, I decided to take the steps I can to prevent this. The first step was to have my ovaries removed, why this first? Good question, it's the cancer that is the hardest to find and generally when it is found it's in later stages. Even if it is cured the chances of it having sent metz is very high.
In my case I know I'm finished with having children. I have 2 beautiful strong willed girls that I love to the moon and back. The journey me and my husband have gone on to have these two isn't something I would wish on my worst enemy (if I had one).
So yesterday I had surgery to have my ovaries and tubes removed. The surgery went well and I was back home in the afternoon. But I am a bit sore. See how long the pain wins over the desire to sew.
Hubby is home to look after the kids and me for a few days so I'm sure my recovery will be smooth.
